Those three Hebrew boys

I can never stop talking about them or using them in illustrations,
They are what I call and regard as true inspiration for all eternity.
What does it take to be at the level which these three were and what does it really mean being there?


Let us dig deep into the word of God and the experiences of these three.

Our main book of study will be, the book of Daniel 3:1-30;
Let us highlight a few verses of this book as we look deep into their meanings

Verse 4
Then an herald cried aloud, to you it is commanded, O people, nations and languages, that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: whosoever falleth not down to worship shall at that same hour be cast into a burning fiery furnace.

Verse 12

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego; these men O king have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods nor do they worship the golden image which you have set up.


Verse16-18

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar we are not careful to answer you in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us and he will deliver us out of thine hand O king.
But if not be it known unto thee O king that, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

Of course the rest of the story is history! The three refused to bow, they were thrown in the furnace, and they were seen in the furnace with an extra man whose appearance was like the SON OF GOD!
They had a true relationship with their God; they knew of a truth whose they were and how He operates in their lives.

They were willing to accept the final decision of their God as a display of His utmost love for them whether it appeared positive or negative in worldly terms, He proved Himself to His glory as we read the whole of the chapter to the end.

Chapter 1:4-20 further buttresses the point of today’s discuss

Wow! What faith, what devotion and trust.

To be at this level means not being ashamed to be known for whom we are or stand for and standing up for what is right and just even when it could mean isolation, persecution and stigmatization.

Jesus says ‘If you are ashamed of me, my father in Heaven will also be ashamed of you.

As we forge ahead in this walk we need to continually ask for strength from on High to stand like Apostle Paul did, till the end.

Without the Holy Spirit guiding us, we can achieve nothing in physical strength and intellect, they will always fail us.
We need discernment and a steadiness in our faith and belief to do like the three Hebrew boys did and gained a lot more than they could ever gain(check Daniel chapter 1:19-20) using worldly intellect, calculations and strategizing to achieve.

Any gift from God gives peace and joy, it adds no sorrow, and lets take a cue from the TRUE pacesetters.
