A good friend is a great treasure, and like most treasure a good friend is a rare find. A good friend is your friend in good times and bad. There are times when it may be hard to be a good friend. Times when you have to face difficulties together, times when you have to tell your friend some hard things. A real friend will risk saying the hard things, because they really love you, and want the best for you. If you have such a friend you are rich indeed. If you want such a friend you should probably start by being such a friend, someone who is truly, faithfully, committed to someone. Most of us have been hurt in our lives by finding someone who we thought was a good friend who turned out to be a "fair weather" friend, someone who wanted to be your friend as long as it didn’t cost them anything. Chances are you won't find many good friends, but you only need a few good friends to have a rich life. You should be a good friend to someone.
