Don't hold a grudge; just let it go
Because it is for sure you never know
When it's the last time you will see his face,
And then realize it was just a waist
Of days, weeks, months, or even years
To hold such a grudge because of bitter tears
You may have shed for a short period of time,
Which made you take away the effort to treat him kind,
As one of the people you love and really care for,
As one of those you once admired and adored.
You shouldn't store up animosity and hate,
But let it go before it's too late,
And you lose the opportunity to make amends
Before one of your lives comes to an end.
Besides, it's not Christian-like to not forgive;
It contradicts how Christians should live.
When you repeat The Lord's Prayer,
You apparently are not aware
That you are asking God to forgive you
As you forgive others for the wrong they do
Against you and any part of your life
By causing hardship and strife.
So, don't hold a grudge; just let it go,
And then, you'll be sure to know
That when you repent of your sin,
You're forgiven as you have forgiven your friend.

A much needed message! If only we would pay heed to it. Well written, good job.

Such truth Kimberly. Too many people leave it way too late. Not only that, but unforgiveness can be really counterproductive. Quite often the other person just gets on with life, while the one who is holding the grudge lives out their days consumed with bitterness. One tiny typo at the end of the fourth line - "waist" should be "waste". Anyway, good job and it's great to see you jumping straight into the challenge. Welcome to FaithWriters! With love, Deb
