"A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest‑‑and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man." (Proverbs 6:10 & 11)

Lazy is a word that is out of fashion today, but it is still descriptive of a condition of mankind. Being LAZY means a person habitually puts off what ought to be done. Whether that is picking up the junk in the front yard, or moving forward toward an important goal in life, failure to take action can be a result of being lazy. Admitting you are lazy is hard. In today's world we want to blame our failings on our parents, our circumstances, or anything else that absolves us of responsibility. The truth is we can do something about our life --but we have to act. This proverb tells us that procrastination, slumbering when we should be working, will lead to poverty. It comes on us as a surprise (like a bandit). While we were resting, it slipped up on us, and got us. No need for that to happen. Be diligent, be purposeful, don’t be lazy.
