"Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths." (Proverbs 07:25)
This is a father's advice to his son. He wants his son to avoid the problems that would come into the son's life as a result of becoming involved in adultery. This chapter of Proverbs is a rather graphic description of the adventures of an unfaithful wife as she seeks and seduces a naïve young man. The end of such an involvement is destruction, loss and death. Of course that is not the intended course of action for the young man, but he "strays into her paths", he follows "her ways" thoughtlessly, and ends up in the grip of death. We should guard our heart and our paths, and give thought to our ways.
