"Get wisdom, get understanding;do not forget my words or swerve from them."(Proverbs 4:5)
Having goals is an important part of any healthy person's life. The LORD's advice is that a high goal of your and my life should be to gain wisdom and understanding. Wisdom will tell you how to think and act in any life situation. Wisdom is the sum of understanding and knowledge. Our culture is obsessed with knowledge (information) but expends little effort obtaining understanding. Knowledge without understanding can be plain foolishness. Where do you get understanding that develops into wisdom? From the WORD of God. Remembering the WORD, hanging on to it when everything else is out of focus or upside down, will preserve you and bless you. This is a proverb that my father used to quote to me as we worked together. He was right. Thanks Dad.
