When my daughter was about 3-1/2 she was lying on her tummy on the living room floor, writing her name in very large chunky letters, like pre-schoolers do, on a tiny tear-out page from a magazine advertisement.

When she was done, she brought it to me and said ‘Here, let’s give this to the daddy to give to the mailman, mama.” I looked at the paper and her first name only was printed, some letters backwards, some illegible, but I got the point. It was a mail-in card from a magazine advertising a porcelain baby-doll for 4 easy payments of “only $49.95 each!”

I asked her what this was all about and she said “That’s my baby dollie that I want. My daddy will get it for me.” She told me so matter-of-factly, and then skipped off to play in her room.

I chuckled to myself that it was so easy for her to believe that just because she wanted this adorable dollie, that her daddy would just get it for her. She did not understand “4 easy payments” or putting all her information down on the card… she just understood that her daddy loved her and loved to bless her.

Oh how I wish my faith in my heavenly daddy was so pure. I wish that I could say that I believe when the Word says that he will supply all my needs (note it does not say He will supply all our “wants”), but I am a rubber-legged, white knuckling Christian who needs reassurance repeatedly that my Daddy has things under control. And, He is very patient and gracious to remind me daily – sometimes hourly or moment by moment – of His great love and provision for me.

Beautiful story. "and a little child shall lead them"... "suffer the little children to come to me"....."unless you become as a little child you shall in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven.,." Oh, the faith of a child....we could all learn much. Thank you for sharing this. GOD BLESS YOU
