The US government publishes a list of hurricane classes called the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. On this list it classes hurricanes by wind speed, and gives you an idea of what kind of damage to expect with each class. Class I Hurricanes don't do much but scare you some, with some coastal flooding and minor damage. Class V Hurricanes command some real respect, tho, with very high winds causing major damage. You can expect roof failures on residences and industrial buildings. Lower floors get completely flooded.
The hurricane has a place of peace though. Right in the middle of all this swirling wind is a calm place that has a real sense of security to it. Its called the eye. In the eye the hurricane that's tearing up your home is acting more like a nice day at the beach. You are guarded as long as you stay in the eye.
So how to stay in the eye in the storms of your life? Hezekiah knew how. When the commander of the Syrian forces came calling with a big army and an even bigger mouth that taunted Hezekiah, he knew which OP to go to. OP can be Outright Panic or Outpoured Prayer. Hezekiah poured out his heart, and Sennacherib got sent to the Loudmouth Hall of Shame. Hezekiah knew his God was even bigger than Sennacherib's mouth, and that He is Almighty to save when called on to do so.
Philippians Chapter 4, verse 6 tells us not to worry, but to pray.
Verse 7 promises a reward for that prayer. It promises a peace that guards the heart and mind. A principle comes from this- God takes the storm out of us BEFORE He takes us out of the storm! This promised peace guards our hearts and minds, so we can live in the eye of all of our storms.
Its an ignorant bliss, this peace. We don't have any idea how God is going to fix our problems, just that He will.
Hurricanes move, tho and take their eyes with 'em. As we pray and get in this eye, we will find ourselves drawn closer to our God by ever higher winds and more threatening circumstances. They will always escalate, because He will always use them to draw us closer and closer to Him, calling us away from all our worldly care. It takes a growing prayer life to stay in the eye, but it's the only way to be and stay there. Living in the eye is the only place to be!
Tell me what you think, I'm just thinkin out loud!

While reading your article, I got the picture of you and I (believers) in the calm of the eye. The destructive winds on the outer portion of the hurricane was the world system causing all kinds of havoc. As I understand it, the eye is always calm, even unil the hurricane loses it's force. That to me is where we should stay, in the center of GOD's plan and system and we are protected from the world system destruction Thanks for sharing this. GOD BLESS YOU
