"Build a better mousetrap," an old saying goes, "and the world will beat a path to your door". Problem is, if the next mousetrap after yours is similar but inferior but gets better marketing, your mousetrap may soon lose its market and sales may go flat.

God had a plan for His creation to keep it close to Himself, but gave it self-will so it would come to Him out of choice, not robotic command. He offered it a host of pleasing, gratifying choices of things to consume, but a third party intervened and offered what looked like better marketing. The item offered was put forward with a lie, and a question as to the unavailability of the item considered.

God came back around with another item, a person, and He got competed with. The Third Party came up with all kinds of questions and lies about this person, and whether He was who He said He was. Once again, the second mousetrap got more attractive marketing, but some came to see that the original offering was indeed better.

False religion has always come on with questions about Jesus, and denials of His Deity. But in the end they have not been able to satisfy the longings of the heart of man on a continuing basis. The ultimate solution to the problems and appetites of mankind have always been met in the offerings of the Creator of mankind.

Jesus is like the ultimate mousetrap. He is God's ultimate solution to our problems.
