The Beckoning

The boat is rocking, the seas are rough
They sky is dark, the situation is tough
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

The wind is blowing, the water sprays
The lightning flashes, the boat sways
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

Dread fills your heart, overcome with despair
Step out of the boat? Would you dare?
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

Is faith enough? Will you walk?
Onto the sea, will you go or balk?
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

Are you scared? Do you feel alone?
Do you tremble? Does your soul groan?
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

Just one step in faith, onto the sea
Is the wind and waves all you see?
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

You can’t swim. You can’t float.
Only one way to leave the boat
You hear a voice, beckoning “Come!”

Pass or fail, this is the test
Will you walk into the tempest?
You hear His voice, beckoning “Come!”

The answer, only you know
Will you stay or will you go?
You hear Jesus’ voice, beckoning “Come!”

Family in Christ,

Are you being called to take a step in faith? Can you hear His voice beckoning you “Come”? A life in Christ is not going to be a bed of roses. There are many trials to face. Yes, He will lead us beside still waters but, He will also lead us onto the stormy waters.

Are you being called? Are you being led to a ministry, a mission, or even to give in faith. Is Jesus asking you to step out of your comfort zone to serve? Open your heart and listen, He is calling. The question is will you be like Peter and take that faithful step from the boat onto the stormy sea?
