A Small Prayer
Lord I offer this little prayer today
To help me focus upon You through the day
It is simple and it is so small
But it is for You, my All in All
Thank you, Lord, for so much
You are close and I feel your touch
You meet all of my needs
For this sinner You intercede
You alone are worthy of my praise
You I worship, my hands I raise
Thanking you for each blessing
Even in my times of testing
Forgive me, Lord, for I still sin
For the trouble my flesh gets me in
You are so merciful Lord
You are the One I adore
Let Your will be done in my life
See me through my troubles and strife
I know peace for You are near
My prayers You always hear
Forgive me when I make You small
And failing to trust You in all
Too many times I take control
Just as often I am proven a fool
Creation testifies how great You are
But too often I make You seem far
I want to be a fool for You
And let this world think me askew
I do not want to conform
Through You I am transformed
Ok this prayer is not so small
Even so, I can not say it all
Family in Christ,
Have you ever started off with a small prayer and find yourself like the Energizer Bunny and just keep going and going and going… That is communion with God. That is when our soul grabs the face of God and we look at Our Fathers face and just seek to stay in His presence. I love those moments.
Father, I just wanted to say a quick thank you, but now I just want to lay in Your presence as Your face looks my way. Make my heart clean and forgive me so that You can look upon me. I love you, Father. In Jesus name. Amen.
