"Has he not made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part?"
2Samuel 23:5

In 2Samuel 23, David is giving his last words before his death. One of the last sentences he speaks is of the covenant he has with God. He rejoices over the deep pact of love and bond he has with His God, the one He praised with virtually every breath of his life, as he was a man of righteousness. Verse one in this chapter calls him "israel's singer of songs." He was like the official worship leader for all of Israel! David knew God and God knew David!

As children of God we have access to this deep, binding covenant, the one that never fails. The Holy spirit often describes it to my heart, anyways, as "gorilla glue love" a love too strong to break. Once you're in, you're in. Unless we choose to leave the covenant with God, He never breaks the deal with us. He is a faithful bridegroom.

Relationships can be unstable, because we falter, and often, we are unfaithful. We are imperfect and easily distracted, and oftentimes even foolish in our relationships with others. However, God, in His perfection is the ultimate example of covenant love, and unlike the love in a marriage between man and woman, not even death shall part you and He, because He is eternal and conquered death, alleluia!

He is the strong Rock, or Cornerstone that WILL NOT BE SHAKEN based upon circumstances and He will not leave when things get ugly. In oursinfulness, we are prone to unfaithfulness, but in His sinlessness, His faithfulness and love endures forever, and our bond with Him will never break, as long as we abide in that love that He has so graciously given us, as His children.
