Thats what LOVE is. It occured to me today(better late than never?), the depth of Gods love, and not only the impact of the Cross, but the motivation behind it!

The God of the universe thinks enough of you to send Jesus to the cross to die for you. This needs repeating, so I will repeat-THE GOD OF THE UNIVES]RSE THINKS ENOUGH OF YOU TO SEND JESUS TO THE CROSS TO DIE FOR YOU. Regardless of what the rest of the world thinks of you, thats God's opinion!

the Father God did not turn His face away from His suffering son so we could feel unloved and drown in a sea of sin. He let Jesus be mocked, broken and killed because He wanted His precious children back.

The Word of God is full of deep mystery, but the underlying theme of this book, and Gods plan is His deep, unending, perfect love for you, His son or daughter.

Its easy to get caught up in the way the world sees us, because we present ourselves to the world everyday, and its easy to wonder if folks like us, if we measure up to their standards, if we performed well enough. Praise God for Ephesians 2:5, that we are SAVED by GRACE and not by works!!! We dont have to put on a show for God, he knows the story, anyway, and He still sticks around :) We don't have to pretend with Him, He already knows the truth,

He died on the cross to make up for all of our weakness, or sin, our lack......He died on the cross to carry our burdens, our disease, disappointment, our hurt. The cross was not heavy because it was made of wood, but it was heavy because of the weight of sin and shame that came with it, and no one but the perfect God incarnate had the grace to carry that sin, all the way up that hill, and to pour out His redeeming blood to make us whole and renewed once again.

This Easter sunday, REJOICE in the awesome works of our saviour, the amazing grace given to us, and the perfect love that was the motivation behind it all!
