weird looking boulder."

I do, the angel was
probably pretty scary
lookin', Lord."

"Why, child?"

"'Cuz, YOU are?"

[SILENCE.]

"I mean, let's
face it, Lord:
You're Big and SCARY!"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"Mean, and NASTY!"

[SILENCE.]

"Big and BRUTAL:
that's what YOU are,
Lord!"

[SAD SMILE.]
"Yes, My beloved."

"SO?
That's about IT!"

"No, child."

"WHAT, Lord?"

"There's more."

"Well......let's see:
the angel caused
an EARTHQUAKE,
and PUSHED
the big rock ASIDE!"

"WHO did, child?"

"Well, I guess it was
You, but You sent that
big angel down to do it.
BOY! I bet that angel was
really NASTY lookin'!"

[PATIENT LOVING KINDNESS.]
"Yes, child.
I understand."
[GENTLE VOICE.]
Go on."

"What's this all ABOUT, Lord?
Why's this so IMPORTANT?"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"I'm JEWISH, Lord!

[PATIENT NOD.]

"Eh.....well, it seemed like
Jesus was pestering Peter,
a lot.
(Squint hard.)
And......eh, then He cooked
breakfast, for
everybody.
(Squint up at air conditioning vent.
Glasses fall down nose.)

[BURST OUT LAUGHING!]

"I bet that fish was really
good, Lord. I can almost
smell it, now. I bet it
was really CRISPY!"

[LOVING SMILE.]
"And then what,
child?"

"Eh.....He said
'Follow Me.'

(Silence.)

"And then what
happened,
little one?"

"They FOLLOWED Him!"
