And, fear is all I HAVE!"

"WELL?
What d'Ya have to
SAY for Yourself?"

[TOTAL SILENCE.]
[SOME AGGRAVATED
RUMBLING.]

"Hey, LORD!
I know You're UP THERE!"

[BIG RUMBLE.]
[LIGHTS BLINK ON,
AND OFF.]

(Oops!)
(Oy!)
"Hey, LORD?
I was just TEASIN'!
Ya know I gotta sense of HUMOR!
(Squint anxiously,
up at air conditioning vent.)
DON'T You?"

[VERY PATIENT NOD.]
"What of it, Mein kinder?"

"Well......I think everybody
talks too serious to You,
most 'a the time."

[SOLEMN NOD.]
"I SEE."

"Yeah. And, I can't sing,
or dance for You:
so, I JOKE!"

[CHUCKLE.]

"Yeah, Lord;
I guess You could call
me, Your 'Jerry Seinfeld':
without the MILLIONS!"

"I understand,
My child."

"Yeah, I sorta wish You
hadn't made me such an
underdog, all the time.
How COME, Lord?"

"How come what,
Mein kinder."

"Ya KNOW!
How come I'm such a
schlamegel?"

"What's that, child?"

"Eh.......it's a bagel, Lord;
except, it's a' the
runt ones: from the
end of the Baker's rack."

"Ah.
[NOD.]
I see."

"Yeah, it sorta got
smashed up, during the
dough process, but
the Baker decided to
stick it on the rack,
anyway. He figured,
'What the heck?',
and tossed it back
on the cookie tin."

"Hm."

"Yeah, Lord.
The bagel's too small,
burnt, and not very tasty.
Plus, nobody wants it.
All the other bagels got
eaten, except this one."

"Perhaps so, My beloved."

"SO?
What do Ya plan to
DO with it, Lord?"

[SMILE.]
"Keep it for Myself."
