As I stand here
As you stand there
I look at you,
The pain in my heart
Cannot be expressed

You spent your life
And consumed your breath
Finding your identity in the contents of the bottle
Tormenting your little ones, your own
In such ways that were cruel yet subtle.

As I stand here
As you stand there
I look at you
Regret engulfs me
Beholding your grieved destiny

Your life was not yours alone to live
For you had your little ones, your own,
Yet a small sacrifice of love,
You were never willing to give
We spent our first years upon this earth,
Weaned of your dearth

We your little ones bore the heavy burden of your hate
We were laden; mercy was what we did await,
As our multitudes of tears flooded heaven's gate.
But today I release all my sorrows that you inflicted
At the Almighty's feet, with these last words…….
My courage you were never able to defeat.
