One....who heard John speak,
and followed Him,
was Andrew,
Simon Peter's brother.
[John 1:40]

(Simon winces, as
he rubs the back of
his sunburnt neck.
It's been a cloudless
morning, and the
sky hadn't shown any
promise of relief.
His mood doesn't
improve as he climbs
out of the boat,
and spots his
younger brother
running along the shoreline.)
"ANDREW!
DARN IT!
Where have you BEEN?
You better have
a GOOD REASON....!"

(Andrew, usually a lot
quieter than his
brother, stops
for a moment,
to catch his breath.)
"Come HERE, Simon!
Come on! Come ON!
I want you to MEET Somebody!"

"WHAT?
Will you get over there,
and HELP me? Where
have you BEEN, anyway?
You know how much
MENDING,
we gotta do, before
SUNDOWN?"

(Andrew grabs his older
brother's free shoulder.
The other one is weighted
down with a heavy net.)
"Come HERE, Simon!
I want ya to MEET
Somebody!"

"What NOW, Andrew?
Don't you see how
WORK, we have to DO?
Man, I've been out there,
all MORNING! You know we've
been short one helper,
this WEEK! Who
have you invited over
for dinner, NOW?
(Simon pulls the ragged
cloth off his dirty
hair. It's been keeping
the sweat from dripping
in his eyes, all morning.
In frustration, he now
tosses it on the ground.
He looks at his younger
brother, and shakes
his head in amazed disgust.)
Where have you BEEN,
Andrew? Why d'you
always have to be
making FRIENDS
with people? I don't
give a WIT about.....!"

"I TOLD you, Simon!
I've......
(Andrew pauses,
suddenly staring at
the dripping net
over his brother's
shoulder, as if searching
for the right words.
The net smells of fish,
sea water, and damp wood.)
I've met Him, Simon."

"WHO?
(Simon wipes some
stinging sweat out
of his weary eyes,
with the palm of
hand, and laughs.)
Andrew, I love
you brother,
but sometimes,
you drive me CRAZY!"

"I KNOW, Simon!
But, this is different!"

"WHO have you
met, NOW, Andrew?
The ALMIGHTY KING?"

(Andrew stoops
down, picks up
Simon's dirty headband,
and slowly hands it back
to his brother.
Then he nods, rather
shyly, and whispers.)
"Yes."

He first found
his brother,
Simon,
and said to him,
We have found
the Messiah.
[John 1:41]
