The Lesson From a Tree

Some times I think
Mankind has not a clue
Maybe, he should look at a tree
To figure out, what to do

The tree seems so very smart
As its branches it does raise
It knows where, its source is
It stands all night and day, in praise

Its branches are always reaching up
And drawing life from the sun
It knows the one that created it
And praises God, for what He has done

From a little sapling
To a majestic tree
It has its branches extended
As a sign to you and me

No matter what the circumstance
It stands to praise the Lord
It stands so straight and tall
Its foundation, must be God’s Word

Through wind or storm or rain or hail
Its branches still extend
To always praise the King of Kings
And give glory and honor, to Him

Though snow is so pretty
Just as is the temptation of sin
When the snow gets so heavy
The tree branches, from the weight, do bend

If the weight stays on too long
The branches will start to break
For when we too, try to carry this load
Our lives, our sin may take

Some trees, seem to smile
Some trees, seem to frown
Some trees, their branches raise
Some trees, their limbs, hang down

Next time you look, at a tree
Maybe you will think about, this little poem
And raise your branches to your King
That still sits, upon the throne.
