His Grace

What is grace?
But unmerited favor
It is not something that we earned
In ourselves, we have little savor

Was it not for His grace
We could never stand
We never could enter
Into our promise land

Though God has a plan
Our efforts to make it happen fail
Only God has the wisdom
He knows what our destiny does entail

How many times
Did we stumble and fall?
God once again picks us up
So that we could stand tall

How many times
Did God put something in our heart?
Something greater than us
That without Him, would fall apart

If grace were dependent
Upon our works alone
We all would be dead
And under a tombstone

It is only by His grace
That we are freed from sin
It is only by His grace
That we may enter in

It is only by His grace
We wake up in the morn
It is only by His grace
That again, we are born

It is only by His grace
That we walk at all
It is only by His grace
That we may fulfill His call.
