The Clogged Sink

All of the sudden
We have a clogged sink
We do all we can
Yet no more thoughts can we think

We realize that we need help
So we go and make a call
And ask the plumber to come
As he has the knowledge, parts, and all

He comes to our house
And knocks upon our door
We must let him in
If we are to not have the clog any more

He fixes the problem
And gives us the bill
Our sink now works
The sink with water we can now safely fill

I want to show a lesson
That comes from this story
Something very important
If we really want to see God’s glory

When we saw the problem
A decision we had to make
If the clog is to go
Then there was a step that we had to take

We made a call to the expert
The one that knew just what to do
As they had the knowledge
And the ability too

We made the call by faith
That the person would come out
We then had to open the door
If the clog we were to do without

Jesus is no different
As a call to him we must make
We do so by faith
That the problem He will take

He comes and knocks upon our hearts door
And says here am I
I have come to intervene
Because of your hearts cry

Standing at the door
He cannot change a thing
The door of our heart we must open
If the answer we are to see Him bring

If we can call a plumber
And believe that he will come if we call
Then asking Jesus our Savior to help
Should be no problem then at all

The cost for Jesus to come
Is just giving up our control
For when we don’t turn loose of the problem
Then the problem will just grow

If we run the water anyway
Though the clog is still there
Then a great mess we will have
As water will go everywhere

If we want to get rid of the problem
Then the Master we must call
And allow Him to do what He does best
All of our problems solve.
