Salvation Of The Real Kind
Came By Way of Rahab

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am come not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance

Salvation like the Bible says cost a life. That life came by way of a sinner saved by grace, mercy and unmerited favor, a woman named Rahab, a known harlot. Jesus paid a debt that he did not owe so that man could be redeemed from sin.

Rahab was a woman of Jericho who received and assisted the men sent out to spy in Joshua 2:1-24. She lodged them when they were in Jericho. When they came, the King of Jericho sent to Rahab to bring forth the men that came to her house, but she told them that they was not there but passed through. She saved a whole nation of people and God is in the saving business. When the Kings men were gone to Jordan to pursue the spies, Rahab shut the gates and went up to the roof and talked to the spies. She made a confession to them that they had heard of all the things the Lord had done when they were come out of Egypt and how afraid of them the people of Jericho were. “As soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt”. She knew that these things happened because of their God, the God of Heaven and Earth. They made a covenant with her that since she had showed them kindness that they would also show kindness to her father’s house and give her a true token. She asked that her family be saved from death. They responded, “Our life for yours; if ye utter not this our business” and it was so. She gave them instructions where to go. “Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned and afterward may ye go your way”. They gave her also something to do. She was to bind a line of scarlet thread in the window; which she had let them down and bring all her family and their possessions to her house. Everybody had a part in the oath or covenant. Salvation is an oath between man and God. God will keep his oath to provide man with salvation if you will accept it. Clean up all the affairs of life that is not Godly and God will surely deliver and do amazing things in one’s life. Rahab realized who it was in her midst and took the opportunity to bring salvation to her house. How much more salvation need to come to man today.

Because of her bravery it was through the family like that Jesus was born into the world. Rahab became the wife of Salmon and the mother of Boaz, and a link in the chain the ancestry both of David and Jesus. Jesus was the Messiah of the Old Testament promise and his mission was to bring the Kingdom of God to men. He came in humility and suffered as a man and died, very unlike the Jews looked for him to come in power and victory. Jesus the Son of Man is a heavenly being that he would rule over all nation and kingdoms of the earth is to be committed. He is the son of David the divine king that will rule in the Messianic Kingdom when all sin and evil will be taken away and peace and righteousness will prevail. Jesus has already suffered at the hands of men so now its time the suffering servant is to come in power and glory.

Salvation of the real kind has been offered to every man of every race. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. It is not God’s will that anyone should perish. After the gospel message has been preached all over the world; then the end shall come.

Since Jesus has brought salvation into the world, once one will receive this salvation they have been called to preach repentance and remission of sins to all nations. If Jesus has made you whole, why wouldn’t someone want their loved ones and friends made whole also? Jesus is calling all into righteousness, “take his yoke and learn of him, and find in him rest for the soul, peace for the heart, and joy in the Spirit. To reject Jesus is to reject salvation of the real kind. So many have settled for the salvation of the world, laboring for the meat which perish instead of the meat that endure unto everlasting life which the Son of Man shall give that has been sealed by God, his Father. The Father only has the true bread from Heaven. Jesus is the bread of life and in that bread lies; salvation that never leaves man hungry or thirsty. The one that will obtain this true salvation will never die, but live forever.

John 6:54-58
Whoso eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day

For my flesh is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed

He that eat my flesh, and drink my blood dwell in me, and I in him

As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eat me, even he shall live by me.

This is that bread which came down from Heaven; not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead; he that eat of this bread shall live for ever

This is salvation of the real kind, sure like the Bible says. It did cost a life and he paid a debt not owed for this salvation. God saved a harlot and her whole family was saved because of her awe of who God was. Why does not man have a reverent fear of God today? Salvation came through forty-two generations to reach man and do they appreciate it, it is hard to tell. Salvation of the real kind will cause a reaction in the Spirit man, the kind that even the Spirit will respond.

This salvation travels mercy road, to grace boulevard, and to the glory interstate. Get on the highway and stay in the straight path, from grace to glory.
