Failures make me drop
Making the next step harder;
Successes make me stop
Failing to regard the Father;

But I’m given another limit,
Set within the eternal word;
Go much farther in the Spirit,
With this goal: Jesus as Lord;

Hear the call, this word of heaven,
“I’m the One you go after,
So be washed of sin’s leaven.
Follow Me; I’m your Master.”

“Let My ways be your mission;
Delight in Me, I’m your own;
Rejoice in Me, renewed Christian;
The shortest path to come home.”

So the limit’s to the end of heaven,
Even to the Father’s throne;
Our love for Him is how we’re driven;
By Jesus’ blood we’re owned;

“When your sin brings a tear,
When success swells your pride,
I give more than a new year,
I give Myself to abide.”




“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”—Phil. 3:12-14
