Beyond This Day (Unsaved Version)

When you hold me, keep my breath,
Lay my soul on dusty plains;
Keep my memory in your head,
Along with lists of lonely names;

Set my head down on a stone,
Think of me in long lost dreams;
Thoughts o’ me keep as your own,
Along with this cold solemn scene;

Will you keep me in your heart
Beyond this day?
Do you fondly recall me
And all my ways?

Does your heart ache with each
Thing that I’ve done?
Does the ache come knowing
That I’ve now gone?

Remember not all my sins,
But how I loved much in vain;
Hold some grace so deep within,
As your gray heart calls my name;

Please now walk away from my grave,
From the hope we dearly held;
Walk away from love we made,
When our passions made us meld.
