The Garage Sale

There was a time
That I had a garage sale
I set it up so nice
I wondered, how can this fail?

I needed some money
So the doors I did open
I waited all day
Just praying and hoping

Though much to my surprise
Not one person stopped by
I wondered, what did I do wrong
My sale was a flop, why?

I laid this down without a clue
Though left things all setup
And just waited on the Lord
To see if He, would raise it up

Then one day I sensed was time
So I went and put up the sign
The Lord then reminded me
Of a poem, that I had written in past time

I passed out many copies of the poem
As “The Gift” God wanted them to read
People read them right on the spot
And it opened doors of sharing, for me

I didn’t make much money that day
Though yet I was spiritually blessed
I met many new people
So the sale, was really a success

My focus had been wrong
As I was focusing only upon my need
As I would just do, His work
He would cause His supply, to come to me

Sometimes I think we miss it
As we put the cart before the horse
We want to see His supply
Without doing, His work

As we step out and do His will
Our needs He will supply
I have found that God’s Word is true
And that He cannot, ever lie.
