I Have This Dream

I have this dream
That is strong in my heart
That people of every race, creed or color
May with the Holy Spirit take part

I have this dream that the church
Will be a mighty force
Because they are humble and on their knees
And give to God a good report

I have this dream
Of a church that allows anyone to come in
Whether they drink alcohol
Whether they smell like a cigar
Whether they are poor or rich
Whether or not they drive a fancy car
Whether they still are in their sin
No matter where they are now
No matter where they have been

I have this dream
Of a place filled with God’s power
Where people just come just as they are
To receive a Holy Spirit shower

I have this dream
Of a church that never condemns
That will accept anyone
To God’s presence, will just lead them

I have this dream
Of a body seeking in unity God’s Son
The only one that can change the world
The only one that has the power to get things done

I have this dream
Of many on their knees
Not perfect in any way
Yet together seeking, corporately

I have this dream
Of a body that will never cast the first stone
A body that has finally learned
That our change comes, in His presence alone

I have this dream
Of a church that does not care
Whether a person has money to give
But everything that they have, with others, will share

I have this dream
Of a church that only walks by faith
That knows who their only source is
So no person will ever be turned away.
