"The wind blows where ever it pleases. You hear its sound, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is for everyone born of the Spirit."-John 3:8

Jesus was trying to explain to Nicodemus the mysterious ways of God, and that we never know what He is going to do, where He is going with certain things, and He says this is true of those born of the Spirit.

God has been speaking to me a lot lately through the wind, using wind as a parable to teach me. The other day, we were outside with the kids and it was very windy and I took the bubbles out. I was going to blow them myself, but the wind beat me to it! The bubbles were forming, but you could not see the source behind their formation. My poor toddlers were probably confused!

You never see the wind, but you always see its effects. Think about hurricane Katrina and the many other storms throughout history. They are VERY powerful, yet invisible......The wind has powerful effects. In Matthew 8 Jesus even had to tell the wind to "chill out!"

Needless to say, those born of the spirit have powerful effects. When we are in Christ we are a "force" against the enemy and we are very effective, though we may not always be noticed. The wind looks like nothing but it does EVERYTHING.

So it is with our Saviour. This morning, our pastor was talking about the small, the quiet, even mundane way Jesus entered this world. Very few people noticed Him, or His birth. Those who did were referred to as "wise men". Because they understood the glory and the power behind this seemingly uneventful birth of this baby boy.

Jesus was quiet, humble and noticed by few......and later condemned by many.....but His life impacted the world in a HUGE way and His name is THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES! He may have seemed small in that manger on that night but He was Gods chosen son to bring forth the Salvation to Zion and the rest of the world.

Todays message is a message that reminds us to never underestimate the power of the seemingly invisble things in the world. Whats small in the eyes of the world is big in the eyes of God. His ways are higher than our ways, who can understand the mind of the Lord? What man has cast down, God has raised up.......and never believe that as His follower, you are insignificant.......man may not notice your deeds, but God sees from Heaven and your works do not go unoticed by Him!
