Beside Myself

Sometimes I feel beside my self
As I consider all that my God has done
He sent his Son from Heaven
For all my sin to atone

Not only did He save me
And forgive me for all my sin
All of my unrighteousness
Through His Blood, He did cleanse

He sent His Holy Spirit
To empower me to stand
He continually shows such mercy
He forever holds my hand

He always is there to listen
To my hearts cry
He is always so faithful
On Him I can rely

All the many prayers
That I have prayed with many tears
Have never gone unnoticed
They have always touched His ears

Though His answer may not always be
The one that I wanted to hear
I know that it is the best, one for me
For my life, to Him is dear

I have come to know that God’s wisdom
Is so, so very divine
His thoughts are so much higher
So I seek His will, not mine

Every good and perfect gift
Comes down from the Father of lights
Every thing that God does do
Though I may not understand, I know is right

I get beside myself
When I see His mighty hand
Move in my behalf
And I see His glorious plan

It is always so far greater
Than my thoughts or requests
When my God sends the answer
It is always for me, His best

Just to enjoy His presence
And see what He did for me
And to know that this is just a taste
Of God’s great, eternity.
