What a Body Should Do

A young mother looks for answers
Her needs are too great to bear
She struggles with life and finances
Living in a world that doesn’t care
On my own what can I do?

An old man sits alone at home
Longing to feel some life again
Just a simple conversation
Will bring him back “To when…”
On my own what can I do?

I notice needs everywhere I go
But alone what can one person do?
Not enough time to lend a hand
Lord, how do I lead them to You?
On my own what can I do?

The church is more than one body
We need to get past our attitudes
One person may not accomplish much
But the church could reach multitudes!
That’s what a body can do!

We alone weren’t meant to do it all
We all need to share in the load.
Reach out and help our neighbors
Lead them to Heaven’s golden road!
That’s what a body should do!

Yes, there is something each of us can do. Have you ever been stopped by a person who is appealing for money? I have, and it leaves a lasting impression. So he asked for a couple of dollars so he could buy a cup of coffee and a muffin. Of course I gave it to him. Did he use it for that? I will never know, but I breathed a prayer for him. That is better than a "twonee". (A Canadian $2.00 coin) A lady asked for help. She was broke until her welfare cheque came in. We gave her a few dollars - all we could spare at the time... Did she buy groceries? We will never know, but the Lord does....Yes, one person can make a difference...Thanks for sharing....Helen

The Body has often neglected the the one-Talent person but God is faithful and so we know that everyone can be used by God if they want to be used.

The church is more than one body
We need to get past our attitudes
One person may not accomplish much
