This Poem was written after coming back to the Lord after a long time away.
I am so lonely; it's bleak cold and dark.
Lord, I need You to touch my heart.
When I was young I decided to put my trust in You,
Then I seemed to forget a Lord that is true.
My heart has long since forgotten how to rejoice.
I now long for the sweet sound of Your voice.
The quietness has filled in all around,
It is so loud that I can not hear a sound.
Even through my emptiness I know that You are there,
Please hear my cries and answer my prayer.
Lord, I realize I've wandered and I'm ready to come home.
I know that I can not get by on my own.
I have been miserable without Your love and joy.
Please replace what I've lost and fill this great void.
Repair my broken heart and make me whole.
Fill this emptiness inside of my soul.
Lord, I sit here with tears in my eyes,
I even forgot the reason you died.
I want You to rebuild my life,
On the only foundation, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am now ready to finally take a stand.
Please stand by me and hold my hand.
Thank You for Your merciful grace.
Your love I could not ever replace.
I tremble knowing if I died before this night,
I would not be able to face Your holy sight.
I would have been so unworthy and ashamed,
I even neglected to remember your name.
You have given me a clean slate,
Your mercy renews itself every day.
You promised in your word to never leave
Your promise tonight is just what I need.
Remind me daily to stay in your will.
With You, my life will be fulfilled.
You cleared my heart so I can see.
Thank you Lord, verily so let it be.
Psalm 102:1-2 Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.

A great plea to the Lord, and one the Lord loves to hear. He welcomed a sheep that had wandered, back into His fold. This would be a great encouragement to others who have strayed. Glad you shared it... God bless you...Helen
