On Our Last Day

On our last day on earth
I wonder what Jesus will find us doing
Will we be serving our Savior?
Or our own pleasures pursuing?

Will we still be consumed?
With the world and it’s system
Will we never have had the time?
To stop, and to the Holy Spirit listen?

Will we still be making plans?
For that new house or car?
Will Jesus and His will
Still be off in the distance, afar?

Will our bank account be full?
Of the treasures of earth
And our neighbor be without food
Because we still put our own needs first

Will the churches in our town
Still be empty and dead
Since we are too busy
We are taking care of self-pleasures instead

Will faith still be?
Just a foreign word
Will we never have even fought?
The enemy with our sword

Will the idea of walking in the Spirit
Be something, which about we still have no clue
Even though that is what we will do in Heaven
Since we are a spirit and God is too

Shouldn’t we live today?
Like it was going to be our last day?
And be sold out to Jesus
And be following the truth, the light, and the way?

On our last day
When we receive our heavenly call
Wouldn’t it be so great?
If we could say that we had always given to Jesus, our all?
