I Am Not Perfect

No, I am not perfect
As I am being changed every day
But I still seek my Savior
For He alone is my truth, light and way

I trust in His mercy
And His grace to help me stand
For in my strength I am but nothing
Until empowered by His hand

I trust His Holy Spirit
To fill me, each and every day
To teach me what I should know
And give to me the words, He would have me to say

To me the message of the Bible
Seems so very clear
We must die to self
And have open, spiritual eyes and ears

And pray that God will empower us
To be a witness for Him today
As we allow the Blood of Jesus
To wash all of our sins, away

We must seek for God’s power
Instead of worldly acclaim
We must desire to want Him more
Than what in this world, we can gain

No, I am not perfect
Though I met the one that has no sin
And it does not yet appear what I shall be
But I know that one day, I shall, be like Him.
