Praying Through

I use to hear the term
Praying through
I wonder if this is something
That we have forgotten how to do?

This takes time and commitment
Instead of a shallow prayer
You keep praying till an answer comes
And you have a knowing that God is aware

The answer may be a scripture
The answer may just be peace
The answer may be the burden lifted
As your spirit finds a release

Sometimes to pray through
You must make a stand and fight
You get so determined to win
That you will take on any creature of night

The cost is not a problem
For any cost you will gladly pay
To have this answer means more
Than anything else today

I sometimes think we get passive
And just say a shallow prayer
Instead of getting a hold of God
We try to walk and this burden bear

I think that if the church would consider
That this should be a normal thing to do
We would see so much more victory
Because of God’s people, praying through.
