Poetry
There is a battle constantly raging, deep with in my soul,
Spirit and flesh fighting, over who will gain control.
The lusts of the flesh, the desires of the Spirit, who will win?
When that struggle is over, a new one will begin.
The deeds of the flesh are as plain as black and white:
Immorality, jealousy, disputes, envying, and all kinds of worldly strife.
Over and over for a lifetime the battle rages on.
Which ever one I decide to feed, is the one that will be strong.
If I feed my Spirit: love, joy, peace, faith and bring forth fruit,
Patience, gentleness, goodness, and self control will come shining through.
When we live for the Spirit, for the Spirit we should live and walk,
Keeping away from fleshly sins and all kinds of worldly talk.
Let us not become boastful, envying, or challenging one another,
For Christ has crucified the flesh, and instructs us to love each other.
