A Writer’s Heart

As a writer
I possess but one goal
That the words which I write
Would touch every soul

That the anointing of God
Would come to each home
And the words which are written
Might be sent from God’s throne

Prayerfully, like was with the Apostle Paul
The handkerchiefs from his body were blessed
So that sickness and disease departed
Because of the anointing the cloth possessed

Though many may not understand me
And I seem a fool to some
My deepest yearning and heart’s cry
Is that each could know the Son

If the words that I write
Have touched at least one soul
Then all that I have lost and suffered
Has been worth it, as I have attained my goal

Oh that I could only convey in mere words
That desires which are in my heart
Because I know the depth of His love
And how deeply Jesus wants you to be apart

His heart cries out
For every lost and hurting one
He gave His life
And shed His blood for your sin to atone

There is not one thing that has been done by man
That Jesus will not forgive
He came to set you free
He came that you might live.
