Walking The Walk or Just Talking The Talk

A simple question that too often goes unanswered, a question we should ask ourselves every day, a question we should ask each other everyday. Are you living for Christ or just simply believe in him? Are you really living for the one who suffered for your sins? Jesus Christ believes in you and the least we can do is return is not only believe in him, but also live for him. In order to truly "talk the talk" we must also be "walking the walk". Talking only gets you the status quo mode-but a true spirit filled Christian will strive for more. He will go from bystander to participant. He will realize God must increase...and he must decrease.

I call a Christian who just talks the talk but fails to walk the walk and doesn't live out what he believes a "lightning bug Christian", one who flickers with love and faith but never shines like he is called to. A true Christian, one who is spirit filled I call a "lighthouse Christian". He shines no matter what the circumstance, day, condition, or what the weather may be...he is not only talking about Christ but walking with Christ also. You make the choice on which type you would like to be...just how bright are you willing to shine?

By the grace of God we are empowered to shine, to be an ever glowing light in a dark world. Its time Christians world wide stop just talking about how amazing Christ is, they start showing it by their actions. How is faith, blessings, love and peace to flow our streets when its not even damping the carpet in our church's? Lighting bug Christians spend their time watching tv, instead of witnessing, they forget that this is Gods timing...we are just borrowing it and all to often misusing it. They also fail to realize that obedience delayed equals disobedience. The excuses...im to busy, im to sick, im to tired are all to often heard. Jesus Christ did not say im to busy, im to sick, im to tired to die for our sins and to be beaten and torchered so you may not suffer for eternity. So for you "lighting bug Christians", maybe this will flip on a light that will no longer dim out when you feel tired, sick, or busy.

As Christians we need to learn to use our bible as a mirror for our lives. Does going in the garage make you a car? Or going to Mcdonalds make you a juicy hamburger? No, neither does going to Church make you a Christian. Todays society is filled with churches who sure do alot of talking but they forget to walk the walk. They treat their so called personal relationship with Jesus as an art, but in all reality you just need to surrender yourself and the holy spirit will lead you. I encourage you to not go through life coasting, because that means your going down hill. Instead start living in what you believe. Its time to start walking the walk instead of just talking the talk.
