Lay Down the Stones

Oct 20, 2002
By Rick L King

We are told, that he that is without sin
Let him cast the first stone
I think we sometimes forget we are only who we are
Because of the Blood that Jesus, did atone

What right do we have to judge another?
The same God that loves us loves all men
If it were not for His grace
We too would still be covered in sin

Jesus changes people at His own pace
He alone knows how fragile are some
He knows what is in their hearts
And how to perfect that hurting one

When we judge by the outward appearance
We are not walking in God’s love
We have not learned to give grace
The kind of grace that was given to us from above

Instead of looking through the natural
We should get into the spirit so we can truly see
And just be obedient to what God says do
Then the rest of the problems, to Him, just leave

Jesus did only what He saw His Father do
He spoke only what His Father said to speak
Why is it that we think we can be different?
No wonder to the world this thing called religion, really reeks

We try to be God over people
We try to put them in a mold
This is just a deception of the devil
We need to just die and give up our control

If we would just learn to listen
And act as we are sent
The church would be in power
Instead of being devil bent

Next time you want to cast a stone
Stop and think why you are where you are
Could you change yourself?
Was it by your strength that you have come this far?

Let’s just lay down all the stones
And learn to give grace and love instead
Let’s just allow the Holy Spirit to change us first
So then by His love and His power, we can be led.
