A War Going On

There is a war going on
Just in case you didn’t know
The enemy is out to kill
Every living soul

He has a battle plan
And has caused many to die
Because they do not trust in Jesus
And on God’s power they do not rely

Though God equipped us to fight
Many have stood and watched unconcerned
They really have no idea
Of what is really going on

They are so wrapped up in their lives
And how to feed the pleasure of self
They don’t even understand
That they have put their God on a shelf

They have eyes too see
Yet they are still blind
They have ears to hear
But are deaf most of the time

The enemy is stealing
And killing many souls
Just because the church
To the battle will not go

They do not know God’s heart
They are focussed on only their own
Will they ever awake?
And see what they have sown?

When we sow to the flesh
Corruption we reap
When we sow to the spirit
New life we will keep

God does not desire
For any soul to be lost
But to follow what God desires
There will be a great cost

Self has to die
Our life is not our own
It is time we followed Jesus
And let Him run the show.
