Faith

Therefore I tell you,
do not be anxious about your life....
Look at the birds of the air;
they neither sow nor reap
nor gather into barns,
and yet Your Heavenly Father
feeds them.

"This isn't TRUE, Lord!"

"What, child."

"This part: about the BIRDS!
Animals are starving EVERYWHERE!
You're not doin' nothin' about
THEM! WELL?"

"Which animals, child."

"Well.....eh, like that one outside,
tonight..."

"Ah, I see."

"Well? What about him?
You don't care about HIM!"

"Him?"

"Well, I'm not sure.
It could be a her;
who cares?"

"I do, child."

"Yeah. Well,
'Ya sure ain't
doin' nothin' about her or
him -
whichever it is."

[SILENCE]

"How come, Lord? Huh?
How can You be so MEAN!
I thought You were supposed
to be takin' care of everybody!"

"Tell Me, child."

"What.
You want me to read
that other part, again,
huh."

[NOD.]

(sigh)
"Yeah. Okay.
Where is it......

For My thoughts
are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways
My ways,
says the Lord.
[Isaiah 55:8]

Yeah. I guess."

"Go on, child."

"For as the heavens
are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher
than your ways
and My thoughts than
your thoughts.
[Isaiah 55:9]"

[SILENCE.]

"Hm. STILL.......
if You were REALLY
a kind and sensitive,
really PERFECT God,
You would......"

"What, My child?"

"Well, I think You'd
send an angel down
to feed the poor thing;
THAT'S what!"

"Haven't I, little one?"

(silence)
"Oh."

[PATIENT NOD.]

come down from heaven,

making it bring forth and sprout,
giving it seed to the sower
and bread to the eater,
so shall My Word be
that goes forth from My Mouth;
it shall not return to Me empty,
but it shall accomplish
