I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From whence does
my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
[Psalms 121:1-2]
*****************************
"Lord?
(silence)
LORD!"

[SILENCE.]

"How come.....?"

"What, My child?"

"Oh.
(silence)
Hey, I thought You weren't listening."

"Never, little one."

"Well, how come all these
OTHER folks get THEIR prayers
answered, like, in a FLASH?"

[SILENCE.]

"......While I get ZIP?"

[SILENCE]

"WELL? HOW COME?"

[SILENCE.]

"HOW COME, LORD?
WHAT ABOUT ME?
HUH?"

[SILENCE.]

"Everybody ELSE gets
THEIR prayers answered -
and all I get is ZIP!"

[RUMBLE.]

"Well, not exactly zip;
but..........
You know what I mean."

"Tell Me."

"Well, You know
what I mean.
How COME?"

[SILENCE.]

"Lord, You know
what I'm asking
isn't a big deal
or anything!
You KNOW it's NOT."

"Everything is important
to Me, child."

"Well, THIS sure isn't."

[NOD.]

"But, WHY?
I DON'T UNDERSTAND?"

"Who AM I, child?"

"Eh...........the One
Who gave us
the Ziploc?"

[LAUGH.]

"Seriously, Lord,
friends tell me about
them praying ONE
minute - and the NEXT....."

[NOD.]

"Well...... and, like,
You answering them
in ten minutes FLAT.
I don't get it;
what happens wit' ME?"

"Perhaps, My child,
I am waiting."

"Waiting?
Waiting for WHA'?"

"For you to
wait on Me."

(long silence)
"Lord?"

"Yes, child?"

"Thank You for
answering my friend's
prayer, today."

[NOD.]
****************************
I wait for the Lord,
my soul waits,
and in His word I hope;
My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen
for the morning,
more than watchmen
for the morning.
[Psalms 130:5-6]
