Thus said the Lord to me,
Go and buy a linen waistcloth,
and put it on your loins,
and do not dip it in water.
So I bought a waistcloth
according to the word
of the Lord,
and put it on my loins.
[Jeremiah 13:1-2]

"JEREMIAH!"

"Yes, Lord?"

"Have you gotten
that belt, yet,
I told
you about?"

"Yeah, Lord.
Here it is;
what did You
want me to do with it,
anyway?"

"Take it off."

"Why? Do YOU
want it? I don't
really think it would
fit You, Lord."

"NO, Jeremiah.
I want you to take
it up to the mountains."

"For what."

"I want you to
bury it."

"Why?
Don't You like it?
I thought the color
kind'a looked nice
on me. Well, yeah....
I could lose a little
weight. Ever since
my mother-in-law
moved in with us,
I've been eating
way too much of her
raisin cakes, but......"

"Jeremiah, just GO -
and BURY IT!"

"Okay! Okay!
Can't I even ask
WHY? And,
what am I gonna'
tell the missus?
She was the one
who really picked it OUT."

[RUMBLE.]

"Alright; I'll go
and do as You say, Lord.
But, I don't think she's
gonna' like it........."

(Trek, trek, trek up to the mountains.)
"Okay, Lord.
I'm here.
But, I'm not really happy
about it.
You know how much I don't
like snakes.
Now, what did 'Ya want me
to do, Lord? I forget."

"Go over there, by the
Euphrates. And, dig a hole."

"Why? Do you want me
to get in it, Lord?"

"No, JEREMIAH.
I want you to put your
new belt in it."

"But, WHY, Lord?
Do You know how
many scheckles I just
paid for this?
My wiife's gonna'
KILL me!"

"You're My prophet,
Jeremiah.
I am your Lord!"

"Well, YEAH, Lord,
but.......she's my WIFE."

"Bury it: NOW."

"Alright, but......
I just know I'm
gonna' catch hell
for this."

[RUMBLE.]

And the word of the Lord
came to me a second time:
Take your waistcloth,
which you have bought,
which is upon your loins,
and arise,
go to the Euphrates,
and hide it there
in a cleft of the rock.
[Jeremiah 13:3-4]
