Lord God I come to you on bended knees
With my heart so heavy and my tears so many
For mountains of sorrow are tearing at my life
The past has controlled me,
The wounds so deeply scaring
This life that you have given me.

I do not venture out to do the things
I know you would have me do
For life has been full of hurt and fear
And thou I know fear is not your way
It still remains with in me so powerfully
Pulling at my very mind and soul.

Tormented day and night by memories
And fear of what might be
Worry is so entwined within me
It and I have became companions
But it is time we part our ways
That worry goes one way as I go another

Lord I seek after what I have never had
A new beginning with a new way of thinking
Fear has no home here within my heart
Sorrow your time to go has come
For only my God can bring this life
Back to where it belongs

Pease come and reside within my heart
Joy Dance you boastful dance
For victory has blown its trumpet
And the battle has been won
No longer will the past control me
For Christ has called me his own.


God’s hand of protection around me
promises pouring from his lips
I am God, I will never leave you
My love for you is pure and complete
It is unchanging as I am unchanging
Do not fear letting me love you

Walls are tumbling down
As the love of God surrounds me
I find myself comforted like a child
Cradled in its mothers arms
No longer lonely or tormented
Completely surrendered to his love
