Nothing seems to go my way,
Even with all I planned;
If this is the way it will stay,
I’ll stick my head in sand;
In spite of all that I could,
Nothing seems to work out;
It seems to me my day’s no good;
So frustrated I could shout!

I told a friend about my day,
How nothing seemed to go right;
You wouldn’t believe what he’d say;
It spoke to my plight;

“You tell me your day was bad,
And badly it went along;
But I say you should be glad;
Your idea of ‘good’ is wrong!

“Here you are, a better place,
Far better than before;
About and before, you’re in grace,
With mercy of infinite galore!

“We all say, ‘God is good!’,
And, ‘God is in control!’
Yet in the dark, we will brood,
‘Has He lost His hold?’”

“If we believe God has saved us,
That Jesus is the Way;
Won’t He help us through the dust,
To the end of one more day?”

So now I see as I should,
And see with grand endeavor;
All my days are very good,
And some are even better!
