Lord?"

"To be honest, You haven't been
much help, Lord. I'm very
disappointed in You, Lord."

[SILENCE.]

"I guess I was right, Lord."

"About what, child?"

"That You're real good with,
like, natural stuff, but when it
comes to psychological tsorishkah,
You kind'a fall short."

"Do you feel that way, child?"

"Uh, like...... yeah."

"Hey, Lord? Do You know
any Scriptures with
'wave' in it?"

"It, child."

"Huh? What was that, Lord?
Oh. You want me to capitalize
it. Yeah, okay."

"So? Are there any, Lord?
Somethin' with 'wave' in ....IT."

"Look, child."

"This book I just got from
my good friends is like a
subject resource of the
Bible, Lord."

so far I've got:

dispute over water rights
bitter water made sweet
idolatrous drinking water
song to desert well
David's thirst but refusal to drink
many cisterns
distilled water
polluted water
poisoned water
springs that fall
Dead Sea water
praying for rain in springtime
water as a gift
roaring waterfalls.......

Nope! No waves, Lord!
See? Your Book doesn't hold
EVERYTHING. See what I mean?"

"You haven't begun to look, My little one."

"And sharks: I don't see nothin' about
sharks in here."

"Here."

"Yeah, okay.
So? Where are the sharks, Lord?"

"In the ocean, child: where they belong."

doin' in my dreams?"

"They AREN'T in your dreams, child."

"I'm being metaphorical, Lord."

"So..... when will the bad dreams stop?"

no good with Freudian stuff,
Lord. Sorry. I always knew it."

"Ah. I see. And, Who CREATED Freud,
little one?"

"I don't know: I guess his parents, Lord.
Oy, that was an uchenveld, huh, Lord?"

"Hey, Lord; I found somethin'
with 'wave' in it."

"Where, child."

"It's in the New Testament.
I'm still uncomfortable with It."

"Yes, child. I know."

"Hey, here's somethin' from
Ezekiel, Lord: this sort of
suits me, better:

Therefore thus says the Lord God
Behold, I am against you, O Tyre,
and will cause many nations
to come up against you,
as the sea causes its waves to come up.
[Ezekiel 26:3]

Who's Tyre, Lord?
I guess You didn't like him,
very much, huh? Oy; Poor guy."

"Bits and pieces do not
a whole story make, My beloved!"

"Yeah, well, if You had given
me better eyesight - but -
I promised I would stop
kvetching, didn't I............
So, Lord? How do I
get rid of them: these
tormentuous waves.....
these monster waves......
and all the big sharks?"

"When you stop looking
at them, child....
and look...at Me."

Lord, if it is You, bid me come
to You on the water.

So Peter got out of the boat
and walked on the water,
