the Holy Spirit
came on them,
and they spoke
with tongues and prophesied.
[Acts 19:6]
*****************************
"Lord?"

"Yes?"

"Do I have to believe in
ALL the Gospel, or just
parts of It?"

[SILENCE.]

"I'm not kidding.
I don't believe in this part,
is all."

"Belief comes from your
heart, child."

"My heart's taken a beating,
Lord. I don't know what
to believe of You, sometimes."

"Yes, child.
I know."

"Yeah, I figured.
I mean, I believe in the parting
of the Red Sea - but, You know,
that was in a movie and all.
It's different."

[PATIENT NOD.]
"Ah, yes."

"Hey; You know,
Lord, it's tough to
beat Yul Brenner and
Charlton Heston.
(smile)
Also, Lord, I think
I've told You I don't
like this part:

...the Heaven opened,
and something descending
like a great sheet,
let down ......
in it were all kinds of animals...
And....came a voice to him,
Rise, Peter. Kill and eat.
[Acts 10:11-12]

Aren't You just telling Peter
that he doesn't have to be
Kosher anymore? How
come, Lord?"

"What does My Word
say, child."

"You mean this part:

What God has cleansed
you must not call common.
[Acts 10:15]

I guess I'm just a little
disappointed here, Lord.
I mean, I was brought up
that Kosher was good
for you. How do I
juggle all this stuff,
anyhow?"

"Are you juggling Me,
child?"

"Yeah, sometimes.
I feel like I've got this
Jewish God and.....
Gentile God - and, I'm
trying to fit the two
of Them together."

"Say what you were
thinking, child."

"Oh. You mean about
the Jewish God being
mean, and the Christian
God being sweet and nice?
Yeah; I guess I think that,
Lord."

"You guess, child?"

"Okay! Yeah!
I do think of it, that way!
(shrug)
But, what can I say?
My earliest memories
of Hebrew school
was that story about
Lot's wife and the
salt block: pretty
nasty story, Lord."

"Are you trying to be
funny, child?"

"Of course, Lord.
So, anyhow, what
am I supposed to do
with this New Gospel?"

"Read It, child.
Then, read It, again."
*************************
....Peter was inwardly perplexed
as to what the vision which
he had seen might mean....
[Acts 10:17]

the same God who was with the Jews saved the whole world through Messiah, actually THROUGH the Jews! He is kind and loving, and full of mercy, Jesus is the proof of God's mercy. I love that line in Peter 10, I think the angel is telling Peter that the gentiles were once unclean, but through Christ they are clean or "kosher". So He told Peter that its ok to "eat traif meat" meaning its ok to include the non Jews in the Good News! I personally don't eat non Kosher meat, but am so glad Yeshua came to make the unclean clean including my own once filth ridden heart! God bless, sister.

I love this one.
