Faith

Jesus looked straight into his eyes,
And said to Peter, "Follow me."
Peter turned and grabbed on to the boat,
And pushed it back into the sea.
He chose that day to leave behind,
A life that was most secure,
To follow the only one who ever lived,
A life that was completely pure.
He gave up everything he had,
And he walked off the beach that day,
He did not know what lay ahead,
But he followed Jesus anyway.
Why is it that we hesitate,
When we are asked by God to go,
Out into this world of sin,
And his lovingkindness show.
We think, is it really necessary,
For me to openly express,
That one day I had to bow my head,
So my sin I could confess.
Friends, we must all do what Peter did,
I really do think so.
So when Jesus says to you, "Follow me."
Push away your life's boat and go.
