Marriage

I remember as a child, picking a pretty flower,
and wanting to make it stay,
I'd put it carefully inside a big book,
and leave it to dry that way.

After a time, I'd come back and look,
and wonder if I'd see,
the flower dry, frozen in a moment of time,
now just a precious memory.

I'd carefully take and lift it out
on a paper glue it fast,
so it would always be a part of my life,
reminding me of a sweet time in the past.

Each day we spend is like a flower,
wonderful in scent and hue,
and I want always to remember each one,
as a reminder of how I love you.

I now have a lovely scrapbook,
in my heart it is hidden inside,
and every day's memory, like a lovely flower,
is put there to always abide.

The scent of all those wondrous times,
all the colors and the hues
bring back the memories of each moment I've had,
in this journey of loving you!
