Marriage

I imagined that all at once,
I was made so small,
and running through a lovely garden,
where all the plants were so tall.

Then it softly began to rain,
each drop it was so huge,
that I was afraid that one would hit me,
and I’d drown in the deluge.

But I looked, and there on the ground
lay a flower petal for me,
and I picked it up over my head
an umbrella this could be.

The rain stopped and darkness came,
the flower petal became something new,
for under its cover I slept for the night,
it was a warm blanket too.

Then I realized what it was,
this flower petal fresh as the dew,
it was the love sent by God above,
that I can share with you.

It will become just what I need,
For God He knows me best,
and the flower petal was just big enough for two,
with you I would find such sweet rest.

At last the flower petal became a page,
upon which I could write what's true,
and the only words that fit on there,
were these three - "I LOVE YOU"!
