Mercy

“Mercy.
Mercy.
Mercy.”

Like waves gently lapping on the seashore,
rhythmic,
steady and true,
a promise more sure
than the sea is wide,

“Mercy.
My mercy,
it endures forever.”

You’ve never gone so far
that mercy cannot reach you
if only you believe.
Mercy,
like grace,
is more than just sufficient.

The sea is full
with the forgotten sins of man,
sins forgotten by God.
He placed them there.
Even the sea,
whether peaceful or raging,
full, so full with the sins of man,
knows mercy.

You can hear it in the whisper
of waves gently lapping on the seashore,
coming in but for the moment's kiss,
only to wash away again.
Let the shame that constantly reminds you
of sin long ago forgiven,
even before they were committed,
(for God already knew where you’d be
at any given moment)
ride back out with the water,
washed away,
and enter again into the Father’s rest.

You owe it to Him
to receive
as much as you owe it to yourself,
even more so,
because He offers His mercy so freely.

“Mercy.
Mercy.
Mercy.
How, oh how,
My child,
I would that you receive.
Yes, even now, when you least believe
you are worthy.
Mercy.”

Our sins that God chose not to remember once placed under the Blood. This is a beautiful poetic reminder of a love and grace that truly is sufficient. Another anointed work, sister. In Christ, Christian

Joyce this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. (Romans 9:16--So, then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of GOD who shows MERCY. You depicted this so graciously with your gorgeous picture and all. I love you, Sharon

The sea is full
with the forgotten sins of man,
sins forgotten by God.
He placed them there.

This realization and knowledge is what keeps my past from ruining my future.
I like that picture.

"You owe it to Him
to receive
as much as you owe it to yourself,
even more so,
because He offers His mercy so freely." I have spent much energy and time trying to not let my past destroy my future, when it is all under the Blood. This is awesome!

Treava... THIS IS EXCELLENT! I love the 'crescendo' effect as your words (and their meaning) grow and peak at a glorious point with the realization that our sins have disappeard into the sea - forgotten by God and out of our lives! I, too, struggle to erase those past sins and your encouraging words help me to let them go, knowing God has already done so! God bless you for a very, very important and beautifully written 'gift' to us all! Love, Peggy
