Marriage

It was so nice to sit last night
and watch the daylight fade,
and watch the solar lamps come on,
pools of gentle light they made.

I marveled that they are off all day,
soaking up the sun,
then when the day comes to an end,
then they come on, one by one.

It reminds me of how we all should be,
living in the Son,
soaking up all that He pours out,
streams of grace that are never done.

Absorb those beams, gather them up,
filling up with His light,
that can't be hidden, it must be shone,
We become His lamps, shining bright.

That, in turn reminded me
of the wonder of our love,
that each day grows more deep and true,
another gift given from above.

For Jesus knew just what I'd need
to shine bright, completely new,
so He sent you into my life,
an added spark- how I love you!

I want to spend each day gathering up
more of this gift sent from God above,
to bring to you to share in this glow,
both lit by the light of our love.
