Marriage

I went outside this morning
the air so muggy and close,
to watch the water spill over the rocks
watering the plants that needed it most.

The sound of the rippling water
was so soothing to my ears
and looking at all the colorful flowers,
I just felt that God had drawn near.

The water flowed from my watering can
wetting the soil below,
and bringing nourishment clear and clean
to help the plants thrive and grow.

It reminded me of the love we share,
filling my heart anew
and every word and little act of care,
waters it gently like the morning dew.

Every day God gives us grace,
His mercies start over again,
and every day our hearts intertwine the more,
never saying "if" but always saying 'when'

Every word of tender care
says it all the more,
not 'if' I love you that your heart will hear,
'when' - every moment it's you I adore.

Every morning watering the flowers,
giving them life's water so new,
I'll think of all the ways I can show and tell,
how very much I LOVE YOU!!
